Level II
At this level, advanced disability inclusion training content and activities will target more experienced inclusion managers who:
- are graduates of past NSIP Training of Trainers workshops or similar learning experiences
- already possess a basic understanding of disability concepts
- are experienced in conducting disability inclusion trainings
- are experienced in responding to requests for basic technical assistance regarding disability inclusion.
This interactive training via hands-on activities, small and large group discussion, sharing of effective practices and peer teach-backs will enable trainees to further develop and demonstrate their competency to address progressively more complex disability inclusion concepts, issues and challenges. Attendees will strengthen their knowledge base of disability concepts, will refine their capacity to research and analyze disability inclusion issues, will increase their ability to address complex questions regarding access and accommodations, and will learn to appropriately and strategically leverage additional relevant resources.
In order to be eligible to participate in this training, an attendee must be responsible for the management and implementation of inclusion at an organization, program, volunteer agency or Commission. Each attendee will be required to complete an application prior to being enrolled. The following factors will assist you in determining if Level II enhances your capacity as a disability inclusion manager:

- Do you have an intermediate knowledge of disability concepts and practices?
- Do you provide on-going assistance to assess your program, organization, or statewide programs to ensure the accessibility and inclusion of individuals with disabilities?

- Are you responsible for overseeing the identification, procurement and evaluation of reasonable accommodations for members with disabilities?
- Are you responsible for developing and evaluating policy and practice for your respective organization related to the inclusion of people with disabilities?
Inclusion managers will also have an opportunity to learn about and discuss how the implementation of the new Kennedy Serve America Act will impact their job roles and responsibilities.
Graduates of Level I or Level II will develop action plans that will outline how acquired skills and knowledge will be applied within their respective state commissions and organizations. Follow up technical assistance will be provided by NSIP following the event to implement these plans.
